1962-1969
Junior staff aide to U.S. Senator Henry M. Jackson, Washington, D. C. I got to attended political functions at times for the Senator, e.g., White House signing of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
1973
Received my Ph.D. from University of Washington in Interpersonal Communication with a minor in Clinical Psychology.
1974-1975
Senior Fellow, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Washington School of Medicine. During this time I completed the remaining course work requirements for Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.

Completed an American Psychological Association approved internship in clinical psychology at the University of Washington.
1975-1980
Adjunct assistant professor of Communications and Psychology at Central Washington University.
1976
Began a private practice in clinical psychology in Olympia, WA, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of depression, and couples therapy.

1980-Present
Workshops for professionals entitled, “Brief (No-Bullshit) Marital Therapy.”
1984
Wrote a newspaper column for Gannett News, The Olympian, called “Messages About Marriage.”
1990-1994
Held political office in Thurston County, Washington as Olympia Port Commissioner.
1993
Radio talk show personality on KQ92, on a show called “Couch of the Airwaves.”
2006
Won the 50 meter and placed third in the 100 meter dash in my age group (65-70) in the Washington StateSenior Games.
I have been married to Eileen Connor, from Yorkshire, England, for 25 years. We have one child, Katy Connor. My wife and I combine our time between Olympia and our house in Sayulita, Mexico.
Highlight of my life: In 1996, my wife and daughter and I traveled around the world for 90 days visiting 12 countries. |
